In 2016 a Japanese architect couple renovated three empty old houses with local shokunins in Inami of Toyama, a town renowned for wood carving, and turn the whole street into a hotel. Baths, izakayas, reception and guest rooms scatter in the corners of the block. Guests who live in the hotel can learn from the shokunins in their studios. Many of them even become apprentices of those shokunins and start a new life.
